As a charity we really value each and every volunteer. They play a vital part in helping us to promote mental wellbeing in the local community and supporting us in the delivery of our services. Volunteering at St Helens Mind can be an incredibly rewarding and valuable experience.
What is a volunteer?
A volunteer is someone who “freely commits their time and energy for the benefit of others in the community. They do so by choice and without concern for personal gain”.

Volunteering at St Helens Mind can be an incredibly rewarding and valuable experience.
It doesn’t matter how much time you have to give; we’ll give you the time to do something great! Whether you want to develop some skills for employment, do something fulfilling or build up your self-confidence, we are here to help you. Volunteering with St Helens Mind will give you new experiences, a chance to connect to others, achieve new goals, whilst making a real difference in your local community.
Do you have what it takes to be a volunteer with St Helens Mind?
We welcome volunteers of all ages and you do not need any special qualifications. All that we ask is that you have a little free time and a wish to help your local community. In addition the following skills are also helpful :
- The ability to listen.
- The ability to talk to people and empathise with their problems.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality.
- A willingness to share your skills or learn new skills alongside others.
