About Us
We are St Helens Mind, your local independent mental health charity affiliated to Mind, the leading mental health organisation in England & Wales. We are passionate about creating a local community where living and talking about mental health becomes acceptable for everyone.
We have been supporting adults with lived experience of mental health problems across our community since 1995. Our services aim to prevent mental health problems, promote mental wellbeing, and ensure those experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges, within the Borough of St Helens, can access support.
How we are funded
St Helens Mind is a UK registered charity. We receive no guaranteed funding from National Mind. Some of our services are funded by local NHS. Others are funded by your voluntary donations and fundraising efforts. Every penny raised helps to makes a big difference to our work and we are very grateful for your support.

We have a Board of Trustees who oversee the running of the charity alongside our small but dedicated staff team and group of fantastic volunteers.

Our Quality Standards
Being part of the local Mind network means we are regularly assessed through the Mind Quality Mark (MQM). It’s a set of standards covering all areas of our operations. MQM provides assurance that local Minds across England and Wales are well-run and achieve or excel beyond good practice. St Helens Mind are proud to have passed this assessment allowing us to use the Mind logo and to draw strength from being part of the Mind family.
